The first step is to select the size, shape, and material of your pots. You might want to start with one or two pieces per person. When you already have the pots, you can now select the materials you want to use in dressing up your flower containers.

Paint is one option which your kids will surely enjoy if they like to get their hands dirty. After brushing on their desired pictures on to the pots, coat it with a sealant that is waterproof, and let it dry. Another option is to use glass beads which you can shape into butterflies, lady bugs, or other garden insects and bugs. Or you can use the beads to cover the rim of the pot or create a graphic pattern. Buttons are also one more crafty idea, or shells which you can form into flowers or other intricate designs. Do not limit yourself to these materials, you can use whatever you fancy and glue these onto the pots. Just make sure that you use waterproof adhesives. When they are dry, place your desired plants or flowers inside and line them up in your garden, so that you can admire them each time you go out to smell the flowers.
